XAT is a national-level exam conducted by XLRI, Jamshedpur for admission to MBA/PGDM programs. More than 1,000 B-schools accept XAT scores. The exam consists of 100 MCQs from various subjects. The XAT cut-off for admission to XLRI’s PGDM-BM program is around 95 percentile for male candidates and 92 percentile for female candidates.

XAT Eligibility Criteria for 2023:
- Candidates must have completed a 3-year or more bachelor’s degree from a recognized institute.
- Final year students can also apply.
- No minimum pass percentage required.
- NRI students can apply through GMAT exam.
Fulfilling the eligibility criteria allows candidates to apply for and appear in the XAT exam.
XAT Exam 2023: Syllabus
The XAT exam shares a similar syllabus to other MBA exams in India, but with the addition of Decision Making and Essay Writing sections. The syllabus for each section is as follows:
- Verbal & Logical Ability: Vocabulary, Para jumble, Grammar, Fill in the blanks, Analogy, Binary Logic, etc.
- Decision Making: Data Arrangement, Assumptions, Complex Arrangement, Conclusions etc.
- Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation: Mensuration, Algebra, Geometry, Caselets, Data charts, Tables, etc.
- General Knowledge: Economics and Finance, Books, Authors, Constitution of India, Current Affairs, etc.
XAT Exam 2023: Registration Process
The XAT Exam 2023 registration process is entirely online, including payment, as the exam will also be conducted online. The registration began on August 10th, 2022, and interested candidates can follow the steps given below to register:
Steps to Register for XAT Exam 2023:
- Candidates must register as a new user on the official XAT website and provide details such as name, date of birth, contact details, and email ID.
- After submitting the form, candidates will receive their XAT ID and password through email or SMS.
- Candidates can then fill out the online application form with personal details, academic qualifications, work experience, and upload a photograph and signature. Candidates must also provide proof of certificates and mark sheets.
- After filling out the form, candidates must pay the registration fee.
Note: Candidates can save the form and complete it at different times, as the XAT registration process offers flexibility.
XAT Admit Card:
- XAT admit cards available from 20th December 2022 till the day of the exam
- Candidates can download the admit card from the official website using their User ID and password
- After logging in, click on the “Download Admit Card” tab and save it in PDF format
- Print the document for future reference
- Admit card contains the candidate’s name, XAT ID, date of birth, date of the test, reporting time, exam duration, test center address, test city, reference number, emergency contact number, candidate’s signature and photograph, supervisor’s remarks and signature, and instructions for XAT 2023
